If my mom has spider veins, will I get them too?

Different reports over the years and what little research that has been done on spider veins shows that approximately 60-75% of the female population will develop some sort of venous abnormality. Spider veins are the most common of all of these.

Generally, the chances of any particular female getting these in her lifetime is in that range, 60-75%. A lot of people think that spider and varicose veins are hereditary, but that has never been proven.

Whether your mother or father had them or not, the chance of any woman getting spider veins is very high. But if it comes from heredity or not, it really makes no difference in prevention and treatment.
